Multi-platform Production Studios Built to the Highest Acoustic Standards
January 2026 saw the opening of our new production complex with Radio Ulster’s Evening Extra programme broadcast from our state of the art multi-platform Studio 3.Our new visualised audio studios are designed to provide optimal flexibility and operational efficiency, delivering the best listening experience for audiences. Modern construction techniques have delivered the highest acoustic standards, and the studios are equipped with Sony PTZ cameras, fully controllable production lighting and LED video walls.
The complex comprises Studios 3 and 5, two fully featured general purpose visualised radio studios, in a generously sized studio with mics to accommodate up to eight people and cubicle configuration. In addition, Studios 2 and 6 are smaller self-operate booths, designed for live contribution, recording interviews and producing finished packages.
In April 2026 BBC Northern Ireland’s Sunday Politics programme commenced broadcast from Studio 5, transmitting simultaneously on BBC One Northern Ireland, iPlayer, BBC Radio Ulster & Foyle and BBC Sounds, showcasing the capabilities of this incredible production space.
