Type B
The Type B is a multi-purpose audio vehicle, custom built around the Yamaha PM1 digital mixing system and used for a vast array of live events, from prestigious orchestral concerts like Proms in the Park, to major festivals such as Belsonic and across a variety of comedy and current affairs programmes
The Type B is also ideal for providing complex mixes for television programmes. With dedicated TV screens for output viewing and ample space for additional preview monitors, sound for television is easily catered for in the air-conditioned control room with first rate acoustic isolation.
V-Sat Outside Broadcast
Our V-Sat Outside Broadcast vehicle is designed to bring seamless connectivity and professional audio engineering to even the most remote locations. This unique unit, built on the legendary VW T5 high roof campervan platform, marries classic style with state-of-the-art technology, making it an ideal choice for broadcasters seeking reliability, flexibility, and flair.
Allen & Heath SQ7 Desk
At the heart of this outside broadcast vehicle is the Allen & Heath SQ7 Desk. Paired with the Comrex IP stereo encoder, the unit delivers secure, high-quality audio transmission. Connectivity is further enhanced by the Comtech Links dish and modem, overcoming the challenges of rural or hard-to-reach locations. We provide a portable LiveU link unit which provides multiple sim card 4G data when we operate where no satellite is in view.
Studio 7
BBC Blackstaff House is the base for Studio 7, a multi-purpose broadcast studio. Equipped with an Allen & Heath Avantis console this studio has two presenter and four guest positions and is equipped to facilitate visualised live and pre-recorded audio productions. In addition to Radio Ulster & Foyle programming Studio 7 is in frequent use for Radio 5 Live, namely for the Patrick Kielty and Stephen Nolan programmes within the weekend schedules.
Ulster Hall Audio Suite
Our Ulster Hall Audio Suite is based at the iconic venue in Belfast’s city centre, a short distance from BBC Broadcasting House. A premier, high-performance recording and broadcast facility, purpose-built to deliver elite audio for large-scale orchestral and television productions. From its extensive high-quality microphones to advanced room technology, and full connectivity to all BBC Broadcasting House facilities to expand its live capability, the Ulster Hall Audio Suite offers a world-class environment for capturing live performance. The primary recording and broadcast hub for the Ulster Orchestra, this facility is also a central venue for BBC Radio 3 concerts. With a proven track record in handling major national broadcasts, the studio most recently hosted the live BBC Proms celebration marking the centenary of the shipping forecast.
